Foundation

The ISO 31000 Foundation exam is a one-hour, closed-book PECB examination for candidates learning the principles, framework and process of risk management. It contains 40 multiple-choice questions across two weighted competency domains and has a 70% pass mark. Twenty-five questions assess the risk management framework and process, while fifteen assess fundamental principles and concepts.

Risk Manager

The ISO 31000 Risk Manager exam is an open-book PECB certification examination for professionals applying risk management principles, frameworks and processes. It contains 60 multiple-choice questions across three weighted competency domains and has a 70% pass mark. More than half of the examination assesses implementation of the risk management process, including assessment, treatment, monitoring, reporting and consultation.

Lead Risk Manager

The ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager exam is a three-hour, open-book PECB certification examination for professionals who design, implement and lead organisation-wide risk management. It contains 80 multiple-choice questions across five weighted competency domains and has a 70% pass mark. Risk assessment is the largest domain, followed by treatment, recording and reporting, with substantial emphasis on evaluation-level decisions.
